21 September 2021 | 18:30pm (GMT -4) Webinar “Socio-environmental conflicts: Dominga” - Conflictos socioambientales: el caso Dominga.
Dominga is an iron and copper mining project that has caused considerable controversy in society because of its future location. Dominga is projected to operate in Coquimbo, Chile, particularly in the fragile area of La Higuera, which has significant value as it is a unique ecosystem rich in biodiversity. The current webinar tried to clarify how this project affects the environmental balance and how the legal process has come to approve the operation of Dominga.
Ezio Costa is currently a professor of environmental law at Universidad de Chile. He is also a researcher at “Centro de Regulación Competencia” and the executive director of ONG FIMA (ONG known for being the first environmental legal study oriented to the public interest in Chile). In addition, Ezio Costa is a Doctor of Law at Universidad de Chile (2010) and a Master (MSc) on Regulation at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE 2013).
