Webinar on Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Engineering Towards Future (SEE Towards Future). 25 November 2024
A series of webinars will be organized to focus on key topics of Sustainable and Ecofriendly Engineering. The first webinar, titled "Sustainable and Eco-friendly Engineering Towards Future (SEE Towards Future)," will take place on September, 2024 (Tentatively). This webinar will emphasize the importance of sustainability in engineering practices, highlighting innovative solutions and eco-friendly technologies. The second webinar, "Renewable Energy Engineering Advancement from Coastal Hydraulics Towards Future (REACH Towards Future)," will address advancements in renewable energy engineering, with a focus on coastal hydraulics. This will provide young professionals with cutting-edge knowledge and inspire them to contribute to future advancements in the field.
We will host a series of Technical Talks featuring experts and peers from the fields of Coastal Engineering, Hydraulics, Energy, and other special topics. These talks aim to foster knowledge sharing and professional development among young professionals. By engaging with seasoned experts and peers, participants will gain valuable insights, learn about the latest trends, and discuss challenges and solutions in their areas of interest.
In collaboration with the Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras, we will coorganize a technical symposium. This event will provide a platform for young professionals to present their research, discuss innovations, and network with professionals and academics in the field. The symposium will encourage collaboration, exchange of ideas, and provide opportunities for young engineers to showcase their work and receive feedback from experienced professionals.
Our Annual Meet will be a networking event bringing together all members of the IAHR SI YPN, along with experts from academia and industry. This event aims to strengthen connections, share insights, and discuss future collaborations. It will provide a unique opportunity for young professionals to build relationships with industry leaders, seek mentorship, and explore career opportunities.
A field trip will be organized to visit nearby ports, hydraulic institutes, industrial plants, and eco-based protection structures. This hands-on experience will provide members with practical insights and exposure to real-world applications in their field. Field trips are essential for young professionals as they offer an opportunity to see engineering principles in action, understand operational challenges, and appreciate the practical aspects of their theoretical knowledge.
These activities are designed specifically for young professionals to enhance their professional development, foster networking, and promote advancements in sustainable and eco-friendly engineering practices. The events will:
• Provide Learning Opportunities: Webinars, tech talks, and symposiums will offer young professionals access to the latest research, trends, and innovations in their fields.
• Encourage Networking: The Annual Meet and tech talks will create a platform for young professionals to interact with peers and industry experts, building valuable professional connections.
• Foster Practical Understanding: The field trip will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, providing young engineers with hands-on experience.
• Promote Collaboration: The symposium and networking events will encourage collaboration between young professionals, academia, and industry, leading to potential research and career opportunities.
• Inspire Future Leaders: By engaging with experts and participating in advanced discussions, young professionals will be inspired to take on leadership roles in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly engineering practices.
These activities will collectively contribute to the growth and development of young professionals, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to excel in their careers and make meaningful contributions to the field of engineering
