Journal of Hydraulic Research | Volume 61, Issue 3/2023The Journal of Hydraulic Research (JHR) publishes research papers in theoretical, experimental and computational hydraulics and fluid mechanics, relating to rivers, lakes, estuaries, coasts, constructed waterways, and some internal flows such as pipe flows. To reflect current trends in water research, articles that explore outcomes of interdisciplinary hydro-environment studies with a strong fluid mechanical component are especially welcome. Although preference is given to fundamental issues, papers focusing on important unconventional or emerging applications of broad interest are also appreciated.

Overview

Volume 61, Issue 3 is headlined by a vision paper on general shallow water equations. What follows are six research papers and three technical notes that thoroughly examine the effects of both natural and modelled processes, broadening the understanding of undular bores, levee breaches, shallow water flows, rock weirs, water channel icing, natural convection in vegetated water bodies, flow fields, bubble entrainments, shallow water equations and wall jet scour.
