Dr. Ali Pourzangbar has a rich academic and professional background in civil engineering and environmental sciences. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering in Iran and a PhD with the prestigious "Doctor Europaeus" certification in Italy. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of nearshore sand bar dynamics and coastal morphology, crucial for protecting coastal areas from climate change impacts. Dr. Pourzangbar's expertise extends to AI based modeling and numerical resolution of hydro-morphodynamic phenomenon, contributing to various EU projects, including developing soft sensors for wastewater treatment and regional climate change adaptation plans. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, focusing on developing machine learning tools for flood prediction and morphological evolution.
