The Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM) plays a specific role in promoting a cross-sectorial approach encompassing all aspects of river and floodplain management, with a truly global perspective. The Journal is a response by the scientific and professional community to the World Water Vision and calls for an integrated approach to water resources management.

The new issue number 3 of JRBM Volume 22 collects eleven high-quality articles that cover various topics of water management, spanning from sediment transport processes to water quality.
This issue is particularly devoted to providing a better understanding of sediment processes, erosion and deposition in natural rivers and experimental conditions, aiming to suggest appropriate management strategies and hydraulic infrastructures. In addition to these articles, you can find other manuscripts focused on water quality assessment and the impact of vegetation on flow resistance.
As in the past issues of JRBM, authors from all over the world are contributing to the Journal, proving its very international and transdisciplinary character.
All articles collected here are worth reading, as they report and discuss the actual state-of-art in the management of rivers and freshwater systems from a variety of viewpoints, showing best practices to be applied worldwide and open research questions that should be addressed in future investigations.
