IAHR has become a liaison organization of the Sub-Committee on Resilience of Buildings and Civil Engineering Works of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 59/SC 20), and will be devoted to the development of new relevant international standards for improving the resilience of architectures and civil works based on extensive and inclusive international cooperation to contribute to the global sustainable development.
The Sub-Committee on Resilience of Buildings and Civil Engineering Works is one of the 10 sub-committees of ISO’s Technical Committee on Buildings and Civil Engineering Works, focusing on the “standardization in addressing resilience in design of built environment to reduce risks induced by hazards, whether natural or man-made, and changing environment,” perfectly aligning with one of IAHR’s four thematic priority areas on “improving resilience against water hazards and disasters,” which are defined in IAHR’s Strategic Plan 2024-2027.
Thank you for being part of IAHR's journey towards a resilient and sustainable future.
