IAHR introduces the new Global Water Awards to recognize outstanding contributions and innovations in the water sector
For the investigators, the innovators and the changemakers of the water world.
Our new global awards are open to IAHR members AND non-members, celebrating the world’s brightest minds, the most pivotal figures and the most impactful contributors in hydro-environment engineering and research.
Global challenges are only becoming more urgent on sustainability; climate resilience and mitigation; energy, food and nature; disasters; and digital transformation. By recognising excellence and bringing successes to the attention of the global water community, we can elevate impact and inspire others to continue their important work.
Established by the IAHR Council of 2024, there are three new global awards:
IAHR Global Water Award | Individual Category
The IAHR Global Water Award (individual category) is the pinnacle of excellence, recognising individuals who have made exceptional contributions to engineering research, science, technology, management and/or practice across any aspect of the overall water cycle in the hydro-environment sector. IAHR Global Water Award | Organisation Category
The IAHR Global Award (organisation category) will recognise organisations for groundbreaking scientific discoveries, major contributions or for novel approaches to holistic water engineering that are significant at a global level. More info
IAHR Global Water Award | Young Professional Category
The IAHR Global Award (young professional category) will celebrate individuals aged younger than 35 years who are leading the way among their peers, demonstrating outstanding contributions related to water engineering involving any part of the water cycle. More info
Join us at the 2025 IAHR Global Awards Ceremony
The 2025 IAHR Global Water Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday 23 June 2025 in Singapore, uniting experts, innovators, and leaders from around the world.
It will be the highlight of the IAHR World Congress—the premier global event for hydro-environment professionals—which is held every two years.
