The John F. Kennedy Student Paper Competition was established in 1992 by the IAHR Council to honour the memory of Professor John F. Kennedy, former IAHR President and Honorary Member. Professor Kennedy made significant and lasting contributions to the Association, and is remembered particularly for his efforts to foster membership and participation of younger people.

The competition recognises conference papers from undergraduate and postgraduate students on the basis of written and oral presentations at the IAHR World Congress.

The 16th edition of the competition will take place in the frame of the 41st IAHR World Congress, to be held in Singapore, from 22 to 27 June 2025. 

To apply for the 2025 edition, please make sure to submit your abstract for the 41st IAHR World Congress by 15 January 2025. Once the abstract acceptance is notified (30 January 2025) you will be invited to submit the full paper by 15 March 2025.
