“I am deeply grateful to the Nominating Committee for selecting me for the election for IAHR president. IAHR is the place for excellence in hydraulic research since 1935 and we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of our community in 2035. The association is born in Brussels in 1935 by the willingness of 66 visionary directors of hydraulic laboratories. The initial objective of the new association was to promote international cooperation in hydromechanics and its application to hydraulic engineering. At that time, improving and consolidating knowledge were priorities for supporting the industrial development of hydropower, navigation, and aeronautics....”
“I am deeply grateful to the Nominating Committee for proposing me for a renewed term of 2 years as IAHR Vice-President. This year IAHR reaches its 90th Anniversary, and the many events and conferences organized either directly by IAHR or under its auspices will transform also into occasions for us all to together celebrate nine decades of global leadership in hydro-environment engineering and research. IAHR was an extraordinary association when I first came in contact with it as a young researcher...”

"It is an honor to be nominated for the position of Vice President of IAHR for this year’s election. With over 30 years of academic, research, and leadership experience in integrated water resources management, hydrodiplomacy, water governance, and climate change adaptation, I am committed to advancing IAHR’s mission and strategic goals in alignment with the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan."
"It is a great privilege for me to have been nominated as a candidate for the IAHR Vice-Presidency for Europe. In a world where the environment is facing significant pressures, such as population development, growing demand for food and energy resources along with climate change, hydro-environmental engineering research is critical to address impacts on water resources, the quality and quantity of which are increasingly compromised."
"It is a great privilege to be nominated for the position of IAHR Vice-President for Europe. As we navigate significant challenges in water management and environmental sustainability, I am eager to contribute to the organization's strong foundation by promoting collaboration and advancing innovation across European institutions."
