#InternationalWomensDay
Today, we celebrate the results of our efforts to integrate female talent into our association. Over the past five years, the proportion of female members in IAHR has grown from 23% to 26%, reflecting our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion in all our activities. This growth in female representation within IAHR also reflects the broader increase of women in the water engineering field.
In the same line, our Council continues to move towards equal representation, and the presence of women in technical committees, regional divisions, and other groups keeps rising. The IAHR Task Force on Diversity and Gender Equity remains dedicated to promoting initiatives that strengthen inclusion and equal opportunities within our community.
A diverse IAHR is a stronger IAHR. Diversity drives innovation and growth, and together, we achieve more when we share diverse talents and perspectives.
This International Women’s Day 2025, we celebrate that we are an association committed to gender equity. Let’s keep moving forward toward a more inclusive future in water engineering!
Prof. Amparo López, Chair of the IAHR Task Force on Diversity and Gender Equity.
