In recognition of the critical importance of early-career engineers and scientists to the future of IAHR, the new constitution and by-laws (voted at the 2019 General Members Assembly in Panama) include that one YPN member from each Regional Division will be invited to participate in the Council. The YPN representative from each Regional Division will become a full voting member of the Council.
The YPN member will become part of the Council for the next two-year cycle.
The YPN member will be responsible for reporting back to the YPNs in their region.
The YPN member will become part of the Leadership Team of the Regional Division.
The YPN member will be invited/expected to attend and participate in the annual Council meetings.
If a country is represented during one cycle (i.e., 2021-2023) candidates from this country cannot be elected again in the next cycle.
Open to all IAHR YPN members.
Candidates need to submit a CV and a motivation letter before 4 June.
Candidates need to be up to date with their membership fees.
The Regional Divisions will do an initial screening of the applications they receive and prepare a slate of candidates.
A ballot will be open for all young professionals to vote for their preferred candidate in their region.
The candidates will be announced during the General Members Assembly on 7 July 2021.
The new Council will take over one month after the General Members Assembly.
Call for candidates will be open until 4 June.
The slate of candidates will be officially published on 11 June.
Ballot voting period will be from 14 to 28 June.
