1st place: Antoine Villefer (EDF, France): "Interaction of Short Wind Waves and Swell: An Experimental and Numerical study"
2nd place: Acacia Markov (University of Otawa, Canada): "Characterizing Live Vegetation Response to Wave Forcing: A Prototype-scale Flume Experimental Program"
3rd place: Nicolas Hanousek (Cardiff University, United Kingdom): "Assessing the Sensitivity of Tidal Range Energy Models to Water Level Accuracy"
The winner and runners-up were announced during the 39th IAHR World Congress Gala Dinner on Thursday 23 June in Granada, Spain. The award was presented by the IAHR President, Joseph Lee, and Chair of the Task Force for Young Professionals Development, David Ferras. On Wednesday 22nd June, prior to the announcement, a special session at the Congress featured 12 finalists who were shortlisted from a total of 91 applicants. Each of the finalists presented their work and all were acknowledged by the jury for their achievements.
Applications for the next John F. Kennedy Student Paper Competition will open soon, with the finalists to present at the 40th IAHR World Congress in Vienna, Austria.
