IAHR organises a wide variety of events worldwide which provide opportunities to network and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences, views, and expertise in hydro-environmental engineering and research.  

IAHR Regional Divisions guarantee that regional hydro-environment concerns and priorities are taken into consideration and ensure the relevance and impact of the association’s activities.  

Convened every two years by IAHR Regional Divisions and in alternating years with the IAHR World Congress, IAHR Regional Congresses focus on the most pertinent and emerging topics at the regional level. 

The following IAHR Regional Congresses are currently held regularly: 

• IAHR Latin America Division Hydraulics Congress (Congreso Latinoamericano de Hidráulica de la IAHR), since 1962. 

• IAHR Asia and Pacific Division Congress, since 1978. 

• IAHR Europe Division Congress, since 2010.

• IAHR Africa Division Congress, since 1994.
