In this context, the following activities are emphasized: Hydrological modelling and application of statistical tools in hydrology Development and application of numerical models in river hydraulics and sediment transport; namely levee and dam failure floods Physical, experimental and numerical modelling of flows in hydraulic structures, in particular in spillways Inspection and monitoring of hydraulic structures and definition of methodologies in the scope of hydraulic and operational safety of dams Dam risk management support, definition of methodologies and development of instruments for emergency planning and warning systems at dam and in downstream valleys
