Ibrahim Demir is an Associate Professor at the Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering departments at the University of Iowa. Ibrahim's research focuses on hydro-informatics, environmental information systems, scientific visualization, big data analytics, and intelligent systems. He is the architect and lead developer of research and operational cyber systems including Iowa Flood and Water Quality Information Systems, NASA IFloodS and SMAP Satellite Mission Information Systems, and Georgia Watershed Information System. Ibrahim is currently on the Editorial Board of Environmental Modeling and Software journal, CUAHSI Informatics Committee, and International Joint Committee on Hydroinformatics.
