University Of Manitoba
Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering
About
Dr. Mina Rouzegar holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, specializing in Water Resources Engineering. Her research focuses on sediment transport and bed morphology in ice-affected channels, a critical area for cold-region hydraulic engineering. Dr. Rouzegar's work has resulted in several high-impact publications and presentations at international conferences. In 2023, she was awarded 1st prize at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Student Paper Competition at the 40th IAHR World Congress in Vienna, Austria. With expertise in both experimental and numerical modeling, Dr. Rouzegar has explored the effects of partial ice cover on sediment transport and developed innovative methods to assess river ice dynamics. Her findings have significant implications for river engineering in cold climates, providing valuable insights for both academic and industry stakeholders. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Rouzegar worked as a consultant and technical office engineer on an urban railway project and was a lecturer at Payame Noor University in Iran. During her Ph.D., she was a member of professional organizations such as the Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) and the Civil Engineering Graduate Student Association (CEGSA).
