Anton Bergant completed his MSc (1985) and PhD (1993) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has been employed with Slovenian water turbine manufacturer Litostroj since 1980, except from October 1989 to January 1993 when he was employed as research officer with the University of Adelaide, Australia. He is currently employed full-time with company Litostroj Power d.o.o., Ljubljana and part-time with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana. On February 23, 2017 he was elected as a Full Member of the Slovenian Academy of Engineering. His research interests include theoretical and experimental investigations of fluid transients in systems, hydrodynamics of water turbines, pumps and valves, and flow-induced vibrations.
