About

Luis Teixeirais Professor of Hydraulic Structures in the School of Engineering at the University of the Republic (Uruguay), where he has worked since 1986,after finishing his Master’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering at UNAM, Mexico. He graduated from the School of Engineering(Uruguay) with a PhD in 2000. From 2003 to2005, he was a Visiting Professor at the School of Civil Engineering of the Universityof Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). He was the Director of the Institute of Fluid Mechanicsand Environmental Engineering (IMFIA) from2005 to 2009. He has led and participated innumerous research and development projects in the fields of water structures,coastal engineering and river engineering.
