Major Achievements:

Chen Zhang, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at Tianjin University, China. Dr. Zhang’s research focus is to develop mechanistic models for water quality management purposes. Currently, he is working on (i) ecosystem models including zooplankton response to lake trophic state and climate warming; (ii) the responses of ecological indicators to hydraulic operation forcing in shallow lakes and reservoirs with a coupled water quality-macrophyte model; (iii) a quantitative assessment of the contributions and indirect impacts of meteorological factors on water quality in regulating reservoirs. He is currently a member of technical committee in the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) and editorial board of Ecological informatics. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals (e.g., Water Resources Research, etc.) with one Editors’ Choice paper in Can J Fish Aquat Sci (2022, 79, 472–486).
