After working as researcher at Dokuz Eylül University for three years, Dr. Gökçen Bombar was appointed in Ege University. In 2016 Dr. Gökçen Bombar moved to zmir Katip Çelebi University where she serve as Vice Dean of the Engineering and Architecture Faculty and Assistant Director of Women's Studies Research and Application Center. Her research interests are flow on stepped spillways, sediment transport under unsteady flow conditions, bridge pier scour, dam-break problems, morphodynamics of river confluences, etc. She is the co-author of 12 international scientific articles and around 65 proceeding papers. Dr. Gökçen Bombar has been involved in several projects funded by TUBITAK as a researcher and has been running one as PI. She was granted to participate in an experimental study in Hydraulics Laboratory of IST, Lisbon, in 2015. She was member of the LOC of 13th ACE Congress, zmir, 2018.
