Dr. Stewart Taylor is the Manager of Geotechnical & Hydraulic Engineering Services at Bechtel Global Corporation. This group provides geotechnical engineering, hydraulic & hydrologic engineering, geology & groundwater, earthquake engineering, and GIS support to all of Bechtel’s global business units. Dr. Taylor has 30+ years of experience in project engineering, functional management, and technical roles on large engineering and construction projects, which include civil infrastructure, fossil and nuclear power plants, nuclear processing and radioactive waste treatment and disposal facilities, and mining and metal processing facilities. His technical expertise encompasses hydraulics, hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources, and hydrologic modeling. Dr. Taylor has authored more than 50 professional publications and presentations on these topics that include articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, conference papers, conference presentations, invited speaker presentations, and research reports. He served as coeditor for the ASCE books titled “Groundwater Quantity and Quality Management” and “Hydraulics of Wells.” Dr. Taylor is past chair of EWRI’s Groundwater Hydrology Committee and currently chairs EWRI’s KSTAT Standards Committee. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California, a Diplomate Water Resources Engineer, ASCE Fellow, and EWRI Fellow.
