* This profile page is created/updated for the 1st IAHR Online Forum (July 5-7, 2021) * María Dolores Bejarano is a Biologist, Master in Hydrology and PhD in Forest Engineering, interested in both theoretical and applied research in the field of eco-hydrology, with a special emphasis on riverine communities. She believes that a sustainable use of rivers must be based on a multi- and inter-disciplinary research which integrates the disciplines of hydrology, biology, ecology and technology, among others. The objective of her research is to provide results that are ultimately useful for water planning and fluvial ecosystems management, restoration and conservation. During her research career she has participated in 35 research projects and 60 conferences, and has published 35 scientific articles in high impact factor journals. At present she is Scientist and Professor at the Department of Systems and Natural Resources from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain, and collaborates with scientists from international research institutions such as the Umea University (Sweden) or the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal).
