About
Vittorio Di Federico holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D in Hydraulic Engineering. He is a full Professor of Hydraulics at Bologna University since 2001, and teaches Hydraulics, Environmental Hydraulics, Groundwater and Contamination Processes, Uncertainty and Risk in Hydraulic Systems. His research activity focuses on fluid mechanics and hydraulics, and specifically on subsurface hydrology, environmental fluid mechanics, urban hydraulics, and risk analysis of water systems. He authored 104 papers indexed on Web of Science, a book on water distribution systems, and was awarded in 1994 a Fulbright Scolarship and a NATO-CNR Advanced Fellowship Program Grant at University of Arizona, Tucson. He acts/acted as coordinator for UNIBO of EU-financed RTD projects CARE-W, CARE-S, TRUST, StopUP and STORE2HYDRO and national projects GS4WATER and WATERGY, and participated to EU-financed RTD projects BRIGAID and MAR2PROTECT. Associate Editor of Water Resources Research (Wiley) and Advances in Water Resources (Elsevier), member of Editorial Board for Water (MDPI), University of Bologna representative in EERA JP Hydropower, and a member of Bologna Academy of Science, Class of Physical Sciences.
