Dr. David L. Smith is a 15 year United States Corps of Engineers employee and team leader of the Cognitive Ecology and Ecohydraulics Team. He leads a team of ecologist, computer scientist, biologist and engineers for work in the civil, military and private sectors. He has two laboratories including one of the largest and most flexible ecohydraulics flumes in the world. His degree is in Natural Resources (Fisheries) and was a postdoctoral researcher in in hydraulics (Civil Engineering) at the University of Idaho. Prior to fisheries work, he was a senior field and project engineer for Bechtel and Westinghouse involved in nuclear waste site clean-up and reactor decommissioning.
