I am Hazim Al-Khafaji from Iraq-Baghdad, I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering-Hydraulic Structures Engineering, I have more than 21 work experiences divided into three periods, field work, management and academic work. The first period about 10 years, I worked as site engineer and project manager for different infrastructures projects (dams, barrages, highways, water treatment plans and networks, commercial buildings, Irrigation and drainage projects). Later I worked consulting engineer in Al- Hazim Bureau for consulting engineering services and piles tests. While in the second period, I work in the position of vice president of the Iraqi Engineers Union for 6 years, it was a challenging period as I contributed to develop the work of this great union and the important laws that defend their rights, also I conducted many free training courses for members in various engineering specializations to improve their abilities in work and reduce implementation mistakes to develop their leadership skills, which made the Iraqi parliament send me a personal letter of thanks and appreciation for my contributions in the service of this important segment of Iraqi society. In the last period, I focused on academic and research work, started with teacher assistant in the AUT-Iran and lecturer in the University of Technology-Iraq, I published different research papers some of them in Q1 journals (Rock mechanics and rock engineering journal and Rock mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering) and others in Q2 and Q3 journals that dealt with geotechnical problems in hydraulic structures foundation failures. The academic and research experiences give me the ability to teach several courses such as (Hydraulics, Design Hydraulic Structures, Engineering Hydrology, Foundation Design and Geotechnical Engineering Design). Now I am looking for sharing my knowledge and experiences in the academic and fieldwork with academic staff from reputable university and try to pass my knowledges to their students. At that time, I think I reached my goal and transfer my message correctly.
