* This profile page is created/updated for the 1st IAHR Online Forum (July 5-7, 2021) * Luigia Brandimarte is associate professor of hydraulic engineering at KTH, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Her research points at understanding the mutual interaction between fluvial processes and human activities. In particular, she investigates dynamics of water and society and flood risk management. She is especially interested in combing different tools (e.g., modelling, empirical analysis, global datasets) and disciplines (collaborating with social scientists and data analysists) to look at these topics from different perspectives. She has carried out research in different geographical and social environments, to look at different hydrological and human responses that lead to feedback mechanisms between nature and society.
