* This profile page is created/updated for the 1st IAHR Online Forum (July 5-7, 2021) * Dr. Wang Dianchang, Director of the Environmental Protection Department of China Three Gorges Corporation, Director of Yangtze River Ecology and Environment Engineering Research Center, President of Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd, Professor level senior engineer. In July 1996, Dr. Wang graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in water conservancy and hydropower engineering. In December 2000, he obtained a doctorate degree in engineering in hydraulics and river dynamics from Tsinghua University. From April 2001 to June 2002, he carried out post-doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, Germany. Dr. Wang has been working in the State Council Three Gorges Project Construction Committee Executive Office since June 2002. Since December 2017, he has worked in China Three Gorges Corporation and served as Deputy Director and Director of Environmental Protection Department. He then served as the Director of Yangtze River Ecology and Environment Engineering Research Center from March 2019, and the President of Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd from November 2020. Dr. Wang is the practitioner of ecological environment protection of Yangtze River. A large number of achievements have been made by him in the fields of sediment research, environmental protection of hydropower projects, and water pollution control. He is also the vice chairman of the Water Ecology Professional Committee of China Hydraulic Engineering Society, the vice chairman of the Institute of Hydropower and Eco-Environment Research, and a member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Yangtze River Water Environment of the Ministry of Education.
