About
Since the start of 2019, Yoonjin Kim has been a Director on the Executive Board of the International Water Resources Association (IWRA). She is the Executive Director of the Korea Water Forum (KWF). KWF is the multi-stakeholders’ platform for global water cooperation and policy development. She also is the co-chair of the 9th World Water Forum’s priority ‘Cooperation’ and currently, a member of the Korean national committee of the UNESCO- IHP. She has also been a program manager of the Asia Water Council secretariat based at the Water Environment Global Cooperation Center of K-water before she joined KWF. Previously, she was the Forum process coordinator for the Science and Technology Process of the 7th World Water Forum at the National Committee under the Korean Ministry of Land Transport, and Infrastructure for 3 years from 2013. Working in the corporate water sector since 2010, she has focused on the regional coordination of governance and capacity building for sustainable water management. She was a co-founding member and a former executive member of the EAST (“East Asia Security for Tomorrow”) Society at the Graduate School of International Politics at Korea University. She was also a founding member of “People for Successful Corean Reunification” (PS CORE) with an academic focus on enhancement of non-traditional security. She also has organized numerous international summits and ministerial level inter-governmental conferences and managed national projects focused on global water cooperation.
