My name is Achilleas Samaras. I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1982. I am Assistant Professor of Maritime Hydraulics, Port & Harbour Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering in Democritus University of Thrace (Greece). I have a PhD in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), where I also acquired my Diploma and MSc in Civil Engineering, both with "Honours" and as a Valedictorian . Prior to my current appointment, I was a Research Fellow at the University of Bologna (Italy) and have served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Marine Sciences in the University of the Aegean (Greece). My research interests focus on coastal and ocean engineering, including a particular interest in the dynamics of coupled watershed-coast systems.
