Darren is a Technical Director at HR Wallingford in the UK. He is a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with over 25 years’ experience undertaking research and consultancy into flood risk management, early warning systems, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in over 40 countries worldwide. Over the past ten years he has carried out research into how improvements in emergency planning, including the use of agent-based models, can increase communities’ resilience to floods.
