Mirza Sarač is working with the International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC) for 8 years where from 2014 is engaged on flood and GIS related projects and activities. Currently holds the position of the chairman of ISRBC’s Permanent Expert Group for Flood Prevention. His experience in ISRBC among other includes the following projects and activities: • Establishment of Geographic Information System for the Sava River Basin • Establishment of Hydrological Information System for the Sava River Basin • Development of the Sava River Basin Analysis-update 2016 • Development of the Hydrological Model for the Sava River Basin • Development of the Hydraulic Model for the Sava River • Development of the Flood Risk Management Plan in the Sava River Basin • Establishment of Flood Forecasting and Warning in the Sava River Basin • Development of the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment in the Sava River Basin-update 2021 • Development of the River Basin Management Plan in the Sava River Basin-update 2022. Most of his early experience, when he has been worked in the Sava River Watershed Agency Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina as the assistant in water management sector and chief of the department for flood protection, was related to the water management planning, flood risk management planning studies, flood protection issues and monitoring of water levels and discharge of the rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to serving as a hydrologic engineer, he served as the GIS expert for the Sava River Watershed Agency Sarajevo.
