Abstract: Extracting energy from ocean has been considered difficult and uneconomical. However, this energy is being increasingly regarded in many countries as one of the most promising resource. This way, an accurate prediction of energy cost is important to the justification of planning and constructing an energy farm. In this paper, the levelised costs of wave, tidal and offshore wind power are established to identify their competitiveness. Moreover, cost savings with hybrid converters are determinate.
