Abstract: Flow properties in self-aerated high-speed flows are commonly investigated on large-scale hydraulic models with use of intrusive phase-detection probes. Digitalization of the raw voltage signals can be achieved by application of different techniques. User-defined thresholds need to be set which affect the resulting flow properties in different order. In this paper, three different techniques are applied with varying threshold settings to investigate effects on air content, flow resistance, energy dissipation and bubble count rate.
