Abstract: During urban floods, obstacles located near crossroads may affect the flow pattern and discharge distribution to the downstream streets. We investigate experimentally and numerically the impact of nine obstacle configurations introduced in 3-branch bifurcation flows on the discharge distribution to the two output channels. Simplified, squared-section, emerged obstacles are selected and we show that some locations increase one of the downstream discharges, while others increase the other one. These different obstacle configurations are considered in 6different reference flows in order to investigate the influence of the Froude number on the changes in discharge distribution.
