Abstract: In the present paper the results of a hydraulic model tests on hydraulic behavior of reef-top seawalls are presented. An empirical expression for the computation of wave overtopping of this type of seawalls is formulated and a design diagram is prepared. The advantages of this type of structures over conventional vertical seawalls and their application to beaches fronted by natural reefs are discussed.
