Abstract: The growth of the Internet as a new social and business environment has attracted many more persons into environmental impact assessment and resulting decisionmaking processes. However, it is necessary to provide these people with tools that assist them in making judgements, which may be described as judgement engines. This paper presents the conception and realisation of one client/server component of an Internet-distributed judgement engine for environmental impact assessment called Web-Mike Impact, built upon the Mike Impact judgement engine of the Danish Hydraulic Institute.
