Abstract: An analysis is presented for predicting the time development of the rise in level of the interface between a contained freshwater and a moving saltwater under layer. This method was verified using experiments conducted with a horizontal wall-jet discharging beneath a baffle to create underflow in a two-layered stratified system. Results from earlier studies were also used to verify the authors’relationship.
