Abstract: The Missouri Management Systems Evaluation Area (MO-MSEA) was established to monitor and assess the influence of agricultural chemicals on the quality of ground and surface water within and exiting the Goodwater Creek watershed. The study watershed is located in the claypan soils region of north central Missouri, USA. Measurement of flow, and herbicide concentrations in ground and surface water show that the claypan limits movement of agricultural chemicals to ground water, but causes severe surface water problems for storms that occur within two months of chemical application application.
