Abstract: Yearly prosperity and decay of freshwater red tide produced by phytoplankton is measured in a manmade lake. Series changes of water temperature in the lake are observed as well. From these observations, it becomes clear that the freshwater is apt to start at the upstream end of back water of the lake and most populate in summer. And its population tend to increase when density stratification become unstable.
