Abstract: Various experimental tests of flows in a narrow open channel of trapezoidal cross section with artificial bed roughness were carried out with aim to investigate a hydraulic resistance law and evaluate the influence of bed roughness on resistance coefficient. A special attention was paid to a recognition of characteristic mean velocity profiles in both the inner and the outer regions.
