Abstract: The SEAWAT module of the international universal software Visual Modflow was used in Lijin County in Dongying to build a three-dimensional unsteady variable density model which is a coupling model of groundwater flow and solute transport. Also, it used numerical simulation method to evaluate groundwater resources, optimize pumping well configuration and make a forecast of the groundwater level and transport plume of salt water in the next 10 years. The results showed that: Firstly, the interface between salt and fresh water is approximate the Yellow River Levee in Lijin Yellow River Beach. Secondly, according to the designing scheme, exploitation and replenishment kept balance, so that the supply of groundwater was guaranteed. Thirdly, in the next 10 years, the salt water will not transport to the pumping well. The successful application of Visual Modflow in Yellow River Beach in Lijin provides a basis for the rational development and utilization of groundwater in this area and has a good future application prospect.
