Abstract: Spawning grounds of Four Major Chinese Carps (FMCC) in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River have special terrain and hydrodynamic conditions. Since the Three Gorges Project (TGP) running, hydrological regime and sediment under the dam have changed so obvious that they may produce unfavorable effect on the topography of spawning grounds for the FMCC and then hydrodynamic condition also changed. Based on the topography data of spawning grounds for the FMCC in Yidu reach in 2002 and 2012, this paper analyzed the changes of spawning grounds in different riverbed sections, and discussed the possible influence would produce on natural reproduction of the FMCC.
