Abstract: In order to predict the status of siltation in the lower reaches of the lock to be constructed in the Yongjiang River, the distributions of flow, the distributions of suspended load concentration and the changes of submerged topography were respectively simulated with a flow and sediment numerical model for each of the lock sites of Huitou, the Zhenhai Power Plant and Neiyoushan, and the siltation in the lower reaches of the lock and its influence on the Zhenhai Port Area and Beilun Port Area were analyzed. The study results showed that at present, siltation occurs in the three rivers; after the lock is constructed in the Yongjiang River, the siltation quantity reduces in the upper reaches of the lock, and increases in the lower reaches of the lock; the closer the lock site is to the Yongjiang Estuary, the less the net increment of siltation in the upper and lower reaches of the lock is, and is even negative; the siltation in the lower reaches of the lock has an influence on the Zhenhai Port Area, but has no influence on the Beilun Port Area; the closer the lock site is to the Zhenhai Port Area, the greater the siltation intensity caused by constructing the lock is in the Zhenhai Port Area.
