Abstract: This paper discusses the feasibility of single-level hydro-floating ship lift with lifting height of 150m for the first time. Firstly, based on the design theory of hydro-floating ship lift, hydraulic lifting system is designed with adoption of non-equal inertia principle. Secondly, through building mathematical simulation model of operation, the paper researches the operation characteristics of ship lift and hydraulic characteristics of lifting system. The prominent hydraulic problem of cavitation at valve section under the condition of high water head is focused analyzed and anti-cavitation measures are proposed. Preliminary study indicates that hydraulic lifting system layouts using non-equal inertia principle and comprehensive cavitation resistant measures adopted can solve the hydraulic problems of hydro-floating ship lift with lifting height of 150m.
