Abstract: Kuwait Bay is located at the north western corner of the Arabian Gulf and accommodates many industrial and commercial activities. It is important to develop a water quality model for Kuwait Bay to predict the impact of different activities. Such a model will require a validated hydrodynamic model. This paper provides the validation of such a model using the RMA-10 finite element model. The model was validated using three different data sets of currents measured over a neap and spring cycle. The model was run for one month and the maximum and residual currents were calculated. The residual current inside the Kuwait bay were found to be below 0. 1 m/s and the maximum currents can reach up to 1. 0 m/s.
