Abstract: Nozzle is an important part of jet pump. To approach the influence of different nozzles on the performance of jet pump, four kinds of nozzles are chosen, such as cross, ellipse with a 2: 1 aspect ratio, ellipse with a 3: 1 aspect ratio and square. The three-dimensional flow field within a jet pump was investigated numerically based on standard k ε− turbulent model and finite volume method. The performance curve of jet pump with the cross nozzle showed that 3-D simulation results agreed well with experimental data and theoretical value. In farther research, that different nozzles have variant influence on the performance of jet pump is proved. An elliptic nozzle with a 2: 1 aspect ratio and a foursquare nozzle can enhance the performance than a circular nozzle, and among them, the foursquare one is the best one. An elliptic nozzle with a 2: 1 aspect ratio does better than the circular one when mass flowrate is lower than 1. 2-1. 4, and does worse when mass flowrate is greater than 1. 2-1. 4.
