Abstract: Inclined crest groyne allows different amounts of flow constriction with water stage. Therefore, it is proper to apply to narrow channel or where there is a risk of overflow with water level rising caused by installation of groynes. In this study, experiments on inclined crest groyne were conducted. The angle of crests slope and the change of water level were selected as primary variables for experiments and the recirculation flow around groyne was measured by LSPIV (Large Scale Particle Image Velocimetry). From the results, flow fields around groyne were analyzed focused on recirculation area. Height of recirculation area for inclined crest groyne has a inverse relation to water depth change, but crest angle has no significant effect on height of recirculation area. Length of recirculation area was about 7~11 times of length of groyne and varied inversely as water depth change while it decreased as crest angle increase.
