Abstract: In this paper the characteristics of storm flood and drought are analyzed by summarizing the practical details of real time regulation in Dahuofang reservoir. This paper discusses how to utilize real time regulation in the construction of small-sized hydro projects to intercept effectively rainfall flood. The paper also analyzes the potential of how to utilize rainfall flood as a water resource.
