Abstract: Flash flood guidance (FFG) system, which is composed of a threshold runoff computation model and a soil moisture estimation model for hydrologic component and a precipitation forecast model for meteorological component, is a monitoring and forecasting system against sever weather and flood. In this study, the current results for FFG system development over the entire Han River basin in Korea are demonstrated. Computation of threshold runoff values for each high-resolution sub-catchment and calibration results of the extended TOPMODEL are provided. Also the bias adjustment procedure of radar rainfall estimation is suggested. All these results are used to estimate a basin-specific flash flood guidance for Han River basin.
