Abstract: The question of Education and Professional Development is the focus of my consulting and engineering activity due to my many years at the University of Melbourne (now retired). There is a constant output of texts in all engineering fields, obviously to improve learning and to express the views of the author/s. However the difficulty for some technical fields make it difficult to teach (in my area of hydraulic transients this has been expressed to me by many colleagues).
